EXCUSE MI

Morning quote

Posted in fashion, quotes by ladylouis on May 10, 2010

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.

Black Noir

Posted in quotes by ladylouis on May 6, 2010

I’d like to wear a rainbow every day, and tell the world that everything is o.k. But I’ll try to carry off a little darkness on my back. Until things are brighter, I’m the Man in Black.

Nuit, bonne nuit

Night time is really the best time to work.  All the ideas are there to be yours because everyone else is asleep.  -Catherine O’Hara-

Yes, I’m a night person. All my best essays from high school were written in the darkest hours of the night.  I guess it’s the peace that makes it so good for work. And ideas! I always get my best, or craziest, ideas at night. Like moving to France. Or cutting my hair really, really short.

One thing is certain, my most creative moments as an artist or designer has been in the middle of the night. Why can’t I be a 9-5 working girl? Are there others like me out there?

I guess every artist has to be a bit weird. Well, let’s see what this night will bring me. Bonne nuit!

Invisible life

Posted in life by ladylouis on May 5, 2010

She was afraid of herself. Her thoughts, her dreams, her passions. She’d been taught they were sinful and so she became frightened of them. After a while she was too afraid to ever listen to herself again. She lived her life as others wished her to. Deaf to her inner voices and blind to what could have been. She became invisible for others, but worst of all invisible to herself.

Make a choice // make a change

Posted in life by ladylouis on May 5, 2010

You are a wonderful creation. You know more than you think you know, just as you know less than you want to know. -Oscar Wilde-

You’ve got a choice. You can lead a square life. You can keep on doing what you know and what you think you’re good at. Or you can start thinking outside the famous box, reach further, chase new goals. You’ve got more potential than you know.  Someone once said the greatest achievements in history were made by people stupid enough to think them possible.

Personally I’m ready to move on. Make a change. Go further. The next step, this time, means France for me. but you don’t have to move anywhere to take a new step. Simply just don’t stop reaching forward. Ambitions are a part of what we need as humans.

The woman in the mirror

Posted in design, fashion, france, life, photography by ladylouis on May 5, 2010

‘I was blind. Now I see. I’d forgotten what the colors really looked like. I’d forgotten all the shapes existed. I’d seen too much, so I turned blind. My blindness I couldn’t even see.

Today I dared to take a look. I opened up my firmly shut eyes. And what a sight! What a delight, clear picture that revealed itself from the shadows. Words come short in describing such joy, such beauty. Only eyes can see. Mine are open. Looking. Living.’

Welcome to my blog. Excusemi is a blog of inspiration. Inspiration in life, art, design and fashion. There will be words and pictures. Some with wisdom others maybe not. But in the end I hope someone out there can feel some kind of inspiration from reading this blog.

Who am I? My name is Helene. I’m from Norway. 20 years old. Currently living in Oslo, but moving to Nice, France in less than 2 weeks. I call myself an artist. That just simplifies a long explanation. But for you I will try;I’ve been a dancer (ballet, jazz and contemporary) for many years, but not as much anymore, I’ve studied graphic design, I make and design my own clothes, I’m drawing all the time and couldn’t be without it, I love everything that’s called art, design and fashion. Etc…. Therefor: I’m an artist. An artistic soul at least.

Well, enough said. I’m a 20 years old artistic soul moving to France the 16th of May.

Au revoir.
